Museum of Ancient Life

Have you been to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point?  We bought a Groupon awhile back for a museum visit and dinner at the Harvest restaurant and made a little Friday Family Night adventure out of it.  Note to self: scheduling a visit the day after three-year-old has nightmare about dinosaurs is not advisable.  Good thing our three-year-old is so tough.

Aiden had the best seat in the house!

A little pre-dinner chili-dog snack...

Despite recent dinomares (Dino Nightmares), Liam was ALL about this museum.  He even wore his paleontologist hat.

If you have young boys, this place is heaven.  A must see and worth the 1.5 hour roundtrip drive.

Megaladon.  I mean...seriously.

I've heard plumbers make good money.

This was probably Liam's favorite part of the museum.  They have a huge sand pit with hidden fossils that kids can dig up and brush off.  I think Liam would've camped out there all night if we would have let him.

Family picture, just so you can get some context for what happened next.  You wouldn't say we looked like a desperate, struggling family, would you?

After dragging Liam out of the sand pit, we meandered over to the Harvest restaurant and were told there was a 20 minute wait to be seated.  It was already 8pm and we had a long drive ahead of us.  A nice middle-aged lady and her daughter were ahead of us and they asked the hostess if they could give us their spot for us since we had babies.  We struck up a conversation and they of course thought our boys were adorable/edible.

Once we were seated, we enjoyed a yummy dinner and went about $20 over what our Groupon covered.  Our waitress told us at the end of dinner that an anonymous person wanted to cover our dinner!  We knew right away it had to be the nice lady from the waiting area.  How nice is that?  We wanted to thank her, but the waitress insisted that she wanted to remain a mystery.  I look forward to paying it forward one of these days.  Utah is a lovely place, isn't it?  Thank you, anonymous lady!
