San Luis Obispo 2013: Part 6

On one of our last days in beautiful San Luis Obispo, we visited Avila Beach one last time since it was such a big hit before.  For Liam and Aiden at least, the playground was just as exciting as the actual beach.

Liam got to steer a kid-sized pirate ship, his dream come true.

I think Aiden would swing all day long if he could.

Especially if his Daddy sticks around...

It was nice to see Grandpa out of the house getting some sunshine.  Watching budding surfers, Maddie, Jesse and Milli was probably a highlight of his trip.

Brooklyn was a BIT concerned when she saw her Mamma swept up in the waves!

Jesse is already a pro.  What a little surfer dude!  Maddie got up on his board the first time out as well.  Can't say the same for myself when I attempted it as a teenager.  The only time I got up was when I practiced on dry land.

I will never forget Liam's first boogie-boarding experience.  He was completely ecstatic about the idea and even had a very successful first ride, that is, until the edge of the board caught the water and flipped.

There's a smile!  (Sort of.)

Uh-oh...

"Mamma, I don't EVER want to go boogie-boarding again!"

I have to visit the ocean every now and then.  It feeds my soul.  And SLO is not a bad place to do it.
