August Birthday Bash

I'd better post this before these two turn a year older.  We celebrated two August birthdays for Wes and his mom at our house back in August.  I made a feeble attempt at Spanish paella for dinner in honor of Wes's mission to Madrid, but redeemed myself with a great birthday find for him...a vintage chess board to go with his Don Quixote chess set.  I think he loves it...  Happy (really late) birthday, guys!

Blood Lake: Take 27

Apparently, we just couldn't get enough of Blood Lake last summer.  The boys and I escorted Daniel's family and my dad to it for what seems like my 27th visit there in six weeks.  I say escorted, but it turned out I overestimated my muscle strength and endurance of dragging two whiny children up and down a mountain, so Dad and Daniel took turns hauling them on my behalf.  I owe you, guys!
