Have you been to the Hogle Zoo lately? Life-size (and VERY realistic) dinosaurs pepper the park, ready to spit water and roar at any toddler who dares to pass by, ensuring weeks of night terrors. If you look closely at Liam's face throughout these shots, you'll notice that he was less than thrilled at this zoo experience. I think he prefers his animals non-extinct and cuddly. His favorite part of the day was, of course, the choo-choo train.

Easter 2011
Easter is particularly festive because it usually falls around one of the Rawson birthdays; this year it was very near my dad's. We took my parents in for a week while their hardwood floors were being put in, and we were happy to have the company during one of my favorite holidays. I don't think Wes had ever been in such close quarters with his in-laws, and he handled it like a champ. Thanks, babe! My parents were a great help with Liam and the house. Thanks, guys! You're welcome anytime.
I had always envisioned egg-dying and Easter egg hunts with my babies, and this year did not disappoint. Liam was much more of a participant in the festivities than the bystander he was last year as an infant. He loved dip-dipping the eggs into the colors and even threw an extra dye into a cup, creating his own lovely greenish-brown hue. (And to the Charles family: About my sweatshirt...please control yourselves.)
The Easter bunny really pulled out the big guns this year, bringing Liam his very own potty chairs, Thomas the Train bubbles and new sunglasses with guitars on them! He also brought Dada some swim trunks and mama a jewelry tree. Good man (bunny.) This was in lieu of the enormous amounts of candy we usually see from him. I guess he knew that Wes and I were on a no grains/sugar program and that Liam still thinks fruit is dessert. I hope that lasts...
And no Easter is complete without a hunt. It took the little guy a few eggs to get the point, but he took to it like a pro. I provided the background piano music of primary songs, as an introduction for Liam of why we actually celebrate Easter, but I think it won't really sink in for him until next year.
Beautiful Easter morning, followed by a great Easter dinner at Kimberly's house with the whole crew. I can't wait to see what next year has in store for us!

Winter Wrap-up
Ironically, it's snowing as I write this post. Maybe I jinxed the good weather. Despite the cold, the past season has been filled with warmth, family and friends and we are grateful for it all.
Liam and I got to babysit Baby Zuzu and we fell in love.
Peter's 2nd birthday party was full of color and light. Molly did an amazing job organizing everything and we all had a blast. Liam loves his friend!
Liam spent lots of quality time with his cousins and is learning to hang with the big kids.
