Afternoon at the Zermatt

I lived in Stuttgart, Germany as a teenager and I dream about returning one day with my little family.  I miss the old world charm, the architecture, the landscape, the food, the languages...I have passed by the Zermatt Resort in Midway many times and thought about how much it reminds me of my childhood home.  When I found out there was a carousel for the kids, it gave me an excuse to take them on a little adventure.  So one perfect day last month, we picked up Grammy and headed thirty minutes east.

When I told Liam we would be going to a European carousel, he said, "Mamma, I'm not pee'in."

Grammy's always up for anything.  We love having her around!

Liam's favorite carousel character is whichever one has a bench attached to it.  The ones that go up and down are a bit much for him.

Aiden sat in a highchair for the first time while we ate lunch at the little Zermatt restaurant...

And then got stuck on the side of the road for the first time when Mamma drove a tad too far past empty.  Dadda came to the rescue with a gas tank!  Thanks, Weston!

A stalled car didn't stop us from enjoying a gorgeous day.  Liam and I went on a long walk to pass the time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  I highly recommend the Zermatt if you are looking to get out of your typical routine!  Lovely.
